Position Title: CA Trainee Program
Introduction:
At National Foods Limited, we are committed to building future-ready professionals through structured learning, real business exposure, and strong institutional partnerships. In collaboration with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) under the Education and Training Scheme, we are pleased to launch our CA Trainee Program, designed to develop high-potential individuals into well-rounded finance professionals equipped to contribute meaningfully to the organization from day one.
Program Overview:
This program aims to develop well rounded finance professionals through structured, hands on training across NFL’s core finance functions, including financial reporting, planning and analysis, taxation, and internal controls, in collaboration with ICAP under the Education and Training Scheme.
Through progressive cross functional rotations and real world exposure, trainees will build the technical skills, analytical capabilities, and professional values required to contribute to NFL’s financial operations and support informed, data driven decision making across the business.
Qualification:
- Open to ICAP students who are CAF qualified or have appeared in the March 2026 attempt (result awaiting), with an FTS number 42 and above.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable Pakistan GAAP regulations
- Support the month-end and year-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and related ledger entries
- Ensure accurate intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries for group reporting
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and draft management commentary for senior leadership
- Assist in building business cases, investment appraisals, and scenario models for strategic decisions
- Contribute to MANCOM-level financial packs and Board reporting under the supervision of senior finance managers
- Assist in the filing of monthly sales tax returns, withholding tax statements, and corporate income tax computations
- Maintain tax schedules and supporting documentation for FBR assessments and audit proceedings
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and flag implications for the business under supervisor guidance
- Participate in internal audit assignments from planning and fieldwork to drafting findings and recommendations
- Test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls across key business processes
- Identify control gaps and contribute to improvement recommendations aligned with IIA standards
- Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Sales, and HR teams to support finance business partnering activities
- Contribute to data analysis and financial modelling to support commercial decisions
- Participate in ERP-related activities (SAP environment), including data extraction, reporting, and system reconciliations
