The Urban Unit was established in 2005 as a Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Planning and Development Department under Government of the Punjab. In 2012, the PMU was transformed into an independent private sector company, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and is fully owned by Government of the Punjab. We are looking for the services of exceptionally sound and self-motivated professional for the position of “Senior Software Developer”.
Details are as follows:
Position Title: Senior Software Developer

Employment Status: Contract
Gender: Both
Age: 18 – 45
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum 16 years of education IT/CS/Software Engineering or related discipline from HEC recognized university
- Minimum 5 Years’ Experience of 16 Years education
OR - Minimum 18 years’ of education in IT/CS/Software Engineering or related discipline from HEC recognized university
- Minimum 3 Years’ Experience of 18 Years education
Job Responsibilities:
- Software Development and Coding
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code using programming languages like Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, etc.
- Develop both front-end and back-end components as required, focusing on functionality and user experience.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement responsive and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Conduct testing of software, including unit tests, integration tests, and performance testing, to ensure reliability.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues and bugs quickly.
- Work with QA teams to perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Deploy applications and provide ongoing maintenance and updates as required.
- Monitor software to ensure its smooth operation and fix issues that arise post-deployment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to ensure project success.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and changes in project scope to stakeholders and project managers.
- Participate in agile practices such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to maintain workflow.
- Perform any office related task assigned by Task Lead.
- Reporting to Task Lead.
