Wateen is looking for the services of a qualified and skilled professional for the position of “Senior Network Engineer” at Lahore.
Details are as follows:
Position Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Islamabad
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise and telecom network infrastructures. The role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, network security, and troubleshooting complex network issues while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI model, and network design principles.
- Expertise in Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/Nokia networking equipment.
- Hands-on experience with routing, switching, and MPLS networks.
- Experience with firewall technologies (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
- CCNA/CCNP/HCNA/HCNP (or equivalent) certifications are preferred.
- Network Security certifications (PCNSE, NSE, etc.) are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, MAN, and data center network architectures.
- Lead network planning, capacity management, and optimization initiatives.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VLANs, STP).
- Manage network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IPS/IDS, and access control.
- Ensure network uptime, performance monitoring, and proactive fault resolution.
- Lead network deployments, upgrades, migrations, and change management activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and cross-functional teams for network projects.
- Provide Tier-3 support and root cause analysis for complex network issues.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and HLD/LLD.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Ensure compliance with security, operational, and regulatory standards.
