The Ministry of Commerce invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals to join its research team, dedicated to enhancing Pakistan’s trade and economic performance as well as assisting the management related legal matters. As part of our mission to develop evidence-based policies and strategies, we are offering hiring for the position of Research Associate (Category-III) at Islamabad.
Details are as follows:

Qualification & Experience::

Masters or equivalent (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development or any relevant social sciences discipline.
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience.
At least one (1) publication in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals, books or book chapters and/or conference proceedings.

Required Skills:

Expertise in handing data using Advanced Excel techniques.
Strong writing and analytical skills.
Experience in data cleaning and handling micro datasets

Job Description:

Examine the trends in international trade with respect to key destinations, products and free trade agreements.
Carry out tasks related to data collection, cleaning, consolidation, and analysis.
Analyze disaggregated trade data with regards to international trade using MS Excel and other data analysis software programs.
Help in designing and maintaining detailed documentation of data-related processes and protocols.
Provide research support in development of periodic progress reports and presentations.
Contribute in developing knowledge products, including research studies, policy briefs, reports, presentations.
Perform any other tasks and duties assigned by Commerce Division

Successful candidates will be offered market competitive salaries and the appointment will be made on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (1) year further extendable based on performance.
