LESCO Hiring “Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO)” at Lahore

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), being a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) is operating a power distribution network and supplies electricity to more than 6.62 million valued consumers in the approved geographic territory of Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana.
LESCO is offering qualified and experienced professionals with an opportunity to apply for the position of Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO). Those eligible to apply are expected to have sound knowledge of the management and implementation of information and computer technologies and to be equipped with the relevant skillset to lead the Information Technology department in LESCO.

Responsibilities and Skills:

Main responsibilities of the position include the following but are not limited to:

• The applicant shall report to the Chief Executive Officer / Board of Directors LESCO.
• The applicant shall be responsible for steering the organization towards its long-term goals which demands in-depth awareness of the industry and market trends.
• The applicant must have necessary academic qualification and thorough knowledge of information and communication technologies relevant to the electricity distribution sector.
• The applicant shall oversee all IT affairs of the IT department at LESCO and manage all its IT personnel.
• The applicant is responsible for developing IT strategies, IT policies and protocols as well as standards that support the goals and business needs of LESCO. The skill set of the Applicant is expected to include: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and cultivate community relationships. This is to be complimented with the capacity to establish a long-term clear and viable vision for LESCO complete with the setting of strategic goals, readiness to face challenges and identifying opportunities for growth.
• The ability to demonstrate integrity and accountability along with a sense of responsibility to execute his/her tasks both ethically and effectively.

Qualification and Experience:

Qualifications expected from the applicant include:

• 16-years degree in information technology/information systems, computer science, Software Engineering or a related field from HEC-recognized local / foreign university. Preference will be given to applicants holding a Master’s degree.

Experience expected from the applicant includes:

• Minimum post qualification relevant experience of 15 which includes at least 5 years’ experience at senior level position in a large sized private or government sector organization/software houses with sales/business and with a strong experience of conducting large scale customer billing;
• Demonstrated broad knowledge of information systems including software, languages, frameworks, techniques, artificial intelligence and industry trends;
• Demonstrated experience of digitally transforming at least one organization and having established IT systems in a large organization;
• Experience in leading complex, major changes and initiatives, demonstrated skills in change management on an organizational and inter-personal level;
• Experience with integrating teams across multiple business units and managing a geographically dispersed and diverse workforce;
• Experience in development of ERP systems especially for HR and Financial management;
• Demonstrated experience of development of and or working on business process reengineering, large scale data analytics and data management;
• Experience in designing and effective information governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery; and
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Remuneration & Contract Period:

Market-based competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience of candidate to be decided by BOD at the time of selection.
The initial contract shall be for a period of three (3) years, extendable on satisfactory performance with annual performance evaluation to be conducted by the Board of Directors, LESCO against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as detailed in the contractual arrangement and revisited from time to time.
