State Bank of Pakistan Hiring “Director” at Karachi
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Central Bank, is looking for an experienced economist for the position of Director (OG-7) based in Karachi. Details are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria:
| Education: | Masters in Economics from an HEC recognized university or a reputable foreign university. PhD in Economics will be preferred. |
| Age: | Maximum 50 years, as on the date of advertisement. Age relaxation may be allowed in case of PhD. |
| Experience: | At least 15 years of experience including at least 5 years in senior management position; A thorough understanding of monetary policy, policy operations and macroeconomic developments; Experience in theoretical and empirical modelling to support policy analysis and formulation; Strong quantitative skills and sound experience in the application of statistical and econometric techniques for analytical purposes |
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preparation of dossier for the Monetary Policy Committee meetings, including macroeconomic assessment and outlook of the economy, scenario analyses, presentations and the monetary policy statement and report.
- Oversee the exercise of macroeconomic forecasting and medium-term projections of key macroeconomic indicators, keeping in view consistency across different sectors of the economy.
- Carry out regular reviews for continuous improvements to the econometric and structural forecasting models supporting the monetary policy decision-making exercise.
- Undertake quality research on macroeconomic issues, particularly related to the monetary policy framework, implementation, and transmission mechanism.
- Evaluate and refine SBP’s monetary policy tools and frameworks in light of changing economic conditions.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of economists, analysts, and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Engage with the external stakeholders to effectively communicate policy decisions and their rationale.
