Position Announcement of “Chairperson” Punjab Higher Education Commission || March-2025
Government of Punjab announced hiring for “Chairperson” of Punjab Higher Education Commission.
Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has been established under the Punjab Higher Education Commission Act, 2014 for the promotion of higher education, research and development aiming to bring the provincial Higher Education Institutions at par with national and international standards.
Applications are invited from highly accomplished, qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Chairperson PHEC.

Position: Chairperson PHEC
Eligibility:
The Chairperson shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission and shall be responsible for all administrative, financial and academic functions of the Commission, therefore:
- The applicant should be a person of eminence and proven ability, having at least a PhD degree or equivalent with significant contribution to higher education as teacher, researcher or administrator.
Detailed Eligibility criteria and application proforma for the position of Chairperson PHEC is available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. The Search Committee will interview only top 25 eligible candidates on merit, if the total number of eligible candidates exceeds the same.
Terms of Appointment & Salary:
- The Chairperson PHEC shall be appointed for a term of four years.
- The incumbent will be entitled for a maximum of MP-I Scale as basic salary and other fringe benefits as per approval of the Controlling Authority as per provisions of PHEC Act 2014.
Applications:
Interested professionals are requested to apply for the positions on the prescribed pro-forma available at www.hed.punjab.gov.pk. The pro-forma should be accompanied by the following documents:
- Certified copies of CV / educational certificates / degrees / diplomas.
- Details of certified teaching and administrative experience in the form of Experience Certificate duly issued by the concerned Registrar/ Admin Office/ HR Office. Notifications of postings shall not be accepted.
- List of HEC recognized research publications. Certified copies of first page and index of recognized journals.
- Three recent passport size photographs
The applications on the prescribed pro-forma, along with the supporting documents and Resume, should be addressed to the Secretary Higher Education Department, Old DPI Building, New Anarkali, Lahore. Seven extra copies of filled in prescribed pro-forma only must also accompany the main application.
Last date for the submission of applications is 22 March 2025.
The application, complete in all respects and supported with all documents, must reach the Higher Education Department before the close of office hours on the last date of submission. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
