The Ministry of Commerce invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals to join its research team, dedicated to enhancing Pakistan’s trade and economic performance as well as assisting the management related legal matters. As part of our mission to develop evidence-based policies and strategies, we are offering hiring for the position of “Legal Advisor (Category-II)” at Islamabad.
Details are as follows:

Salary: 3 lac with 10% increment up to 4 lac

Qualification & Experience::

LLB or equivalent from HEC recognized local or international institution/university. LLM Degree will be considered a an additional advantage.
Service matters of Government / Corporation / Companies Employees.
Minimum five (05) years professional experience as legal advisor.

Required Skills:

Handling HR and services-related legal issues, including employment law, labor relations, employee benefits, and workplace policies.
Expertise in Civil Servants Act -1973 and other Govt. Service Rules / Policies, international labor law and cross-border HR regulations, including compliance with global employment standards, human rights frameworks, and multinational workplace policies.

Job Description:

Provide legal advice and expertise on HR/Services matters including labor laws, employee rights, and dispute resolution to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
Represent Ministry of Commerce in legal proceedings and court cases and render advice to Minister of Commerce and Secretary Commerce on matters of Law.
Draft and review legal documents, including contracts and agreements, ensure all terms comply with relevant laws and safeguard organizational interests.
Offer legal guidance on regulatory issues, advise on matters related to compliance with local and international laws, and ensure adherence to industry-specific policies.
Undertake evaluation of administrative measures taken from time to time by Government of Pakistan to address issues pertaining to 27 UN Conventions. Support Commerce Division in implementation of UN conventions mandatory for GSP+ Status and assist in drafting all documents related to 27 UN Conventions.
Identify and report instances of failures and lapses in implementation of conventions and suitable legal recommendations for necessary rectifying measures.
Collaborating with HRM team to develop compliance strategies, ensuring policies are effectively enforced and aligned with legal requirements to minimize liability.
Perform any other tasks and duties assigned by Commerce Division.
The Legal Advisor will render part time services and shall be required to provide legal assistance as and when needed and may be called on short notice.

Successful candidates will be offered market competitive salaries and the appointment will be made on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (1) year further extendable based on performance.
