Planning & Development Board seeks applications from eligible and qualified individuals of Punjab Province for appointment against the position of “Climate / Data Scientist” under the ADP Scheme titled as “Climate Finance Unit, Punjab”.

Position: Climate / Data Scientist

Employment Status: Contract
Salary: 600,000 Per Month
Gender: Both
Age: 29 – 50
Qualification:
- Master’s degree or higher in Climate Science, Environmental Science, Data Science, Economics or a related field, with a focus on climate change analysis or related areas.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience (Pre and post qualification included) in data analysis or climate science, with a proven track record of working with climate data, statistical analysis, and modeling.
- Experience in GHG accounting, climate impact assessments, and familiarity with climate finance and sustainability projects
- Proficiency in data analysis software, statistical tools, and GIS applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to derive meaningful insights. Expertise in climate modeling, risk assessment, and GHG accounting methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex data insights in an accessible and actionable format. Collaborative team player with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, including scientists, policymakers, and financial experts.
Job Description:
- Collect and manage climate and environmental data, ensuring it is accurate, comprehensive, and accessible for analysis.
- Conduct data analysis to assess climate risks, evaluate the impact of climate finance projects, and inform strategic decisions within the CFU.
- Develop and maintain models and tools for GHG emission calculations, climate risk assessments, and other relevant analyses.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather data inputs, share findings, and support climate finance and resilience projects.
- Produce reports and presentations that communicate complex data and analysis results in a clear and actionable manner for various audiences.
- Stay updated on the latest climate science research, data methodologies, and technological advancements to continually enhance the CFU’s data capabilities.
