Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), the apex body of the ministry of IT and Telecommunication is hiring “Director National IT Skills Development” at Islamabad.
Details are as follows:
Position Title: Director National IT Skills Development
No. of Positions: 01
Employment Status: Contract
Age: Maximum 50 years as of deadline for application submission.
Location: Islamabad
Qualification:
- Minimum 16 years of education in ICT, Business Administration, Educational Leadership and Management, Marketing, Mass Communication, International Relations, Project Management, HR, Public Policy, Management Sciences, Finance, engineering or equivalent in related fields from a national or international university/institute recognized by HEC.
Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years progressive experience in academia, skills training policy, workforce development, and digital education implementation. This includes teaching, developing curricula, and training programs.
- Experience of collaboration with HEC, universities, relevant Federal & Provisional Government Bodies, national accreditation systems, curriculum modernization, and industry-academia linkages. This involves working with universities and relevant stakeholders to update curricula and ensure they meet industry standards.
- Strong expertise in designing national IT training roadmaps and standardizing IT skill frameworks. This includes creating plans for nationwide IT training and ensuring consistency across programs.
- Track record of managing multimillion-dollar IT education and training initiatives in collaboration and partnership with industry, academia and relevant stakeholders. This involves overseeing large projects and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic frameworks for standardizing IT skills and training programs across universities, training institutes, Federal & Provincial Government Bodies. This includes creating guidelines and standards for IT training programs.
- Work closely with HEC, universities, and the private sector to implement cutting-edge curricula and industry-driven certifications. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver relevant training programs.
- Oversee faculty training programs in emerging and latest technologies etc. This includes train the teachers and instructors to deliver high-quality IT education.
- Establish cohesive national workforce policies aligned with Pakistan’s IT sector needs. This involves developing policies that support the growth and development of the IT workforce.
- Drive academic research on IT skill gaps and workforce projections for emerging technologies. This includes conducting research to identify future workforce needs and developing strategies to address them.
