Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (“EXIM Bank”) is set up by the Government of Pakistan, as Pakistan’s official Export Credit Agency, to support inter-alia the growth of exports and to undertake import substitution projects. EXIM Bank is looking for applications from interested and qualified individuals for the position of “Manager Finance & Accounts” at Islamabad.

Details are as follows:

Position Title: “Manager Finance & Accounts”

No. of Positions: 01

Gender: Both

Age: 18 – 55

Qualification:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance, or other relevant fields from a leading local or international university recognised by the Higher Education Commission (H.E.C.) of Pakistan. \
  • Relevant professional qualifications (C.A., A.C.C.A., etc.) from recognised bodies will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5(five) years of related work experience with any bank/financial institution regulated by the SBP.

Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, reporting frameworks, tax laws, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Well versed in Islamic Finance/insurance structures/reporting regulations (AAOIFI standards); accounting treatment of insurance operations.
  • Understanding of Banking Company Ordinance & Prudential Regulations issued by SBP.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing of Accounting Manual, Financial Reporting Manual & financial controls and related procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills; experience in developing high quality financial models.
  • Hands-on experience on ERP. Implementation experience will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues and implement timely solutions.
  • Command over Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office-based software tools for preparing reports, documents, and presentations.
  • Good computer literacy and inclination towards automation.
  • Ability to work independently and create goals and vision for delivery in ambiguous, difficult or new situations.
  • Excellent team player and able to take up challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure completeness and correctness of closing adjusting entries in Oracle Financial.
  • Maintenance of records as per regulatory and bank’s requirements.
  • Ensure proper accounting, taxation, reconciliations and other accounting matters in day-to-day operations of the bank.
  • Exhibit knowledge of Insurance Accounting, International Accounting Standards, the International Financial Reporting Standards, etc.
  • Update and implement existing Accounting and Expenditure Policy of the Bank.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register of the bank.
  • Maintenance and supervision of mapping of chart of account and different types of vouchers.
  • Lead the payments process for the bank while ensuring accurate MIS, efficiency, operational and cost controls.
  • Maintenance of record as per regulatory & bank’s requirements.
  • Assist in designing, developing, testing and implementing accounts related processes as and when required.
  • Handling taxation matters (Income tax, Sales tax, etc.).
  • Prepare information for the Statutory reporting to the State Bank of Pakistan(SBP) and ensure that all returns are submitted in timely manner.
  • Liaise with other departments for statutory disclosures as required by SBP and prepare information desired by various departments.
  • Assist in the day-to-day accounting/reporting function.
  • Assist Group Head – Finance in coordinating with internal, external and State Bank auditors for financial and non-financial information, and ensure any discrepancies are corrected within stipulated timelines.
  • Regular supervision of trial balance for any adjusting or periodical adjusting entries.
  • Assist in publication of financial statements through various media.
  • Any other task assigned by line management.
