The Ministry of Commerce invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals to fill the vacant post of Program Officer (Human Rights) on contract basis at Islamabad.
Details are as follows:

Position Title: Program Officer (Human Rights)

Location: Islamabad

Age: 30 years
Employment Status: Contract (1 Year Extendable)

Qualification & Experience::

Masters/Bachelor Degree (16 years education) in relevant filed i.e., Public Policy, Law, Human Rights, Sociology, Conflict & Peace Studies and have good understanding of the problems of sustainable development relevant to human rights issues.
Minimum Three years experience
Excellent oral and written communication skill.
Excellent skill in MS Office.

Job Description:

To Assist Ministry of Commerce in Designing and coordinating / conducting policy related research centered on UN Conventions on Human Rights and how they can be effectively implemented for preparing an Action Plan.
To liaise with the provincial Human Rights departments and maintain a record of the updated status on implementation of UN Conventions related to Human Rights.
To Engage with the relevant government Ministries / Departments, Civil Society Individuals / Organizations for ensuring implementation of Pakistan’s commitments under GSP Plus.
To work with Ministry of Commerce in developing, piloting and implementing contextbased activities pertaining to GSP Plus commitments.
To engage with Civil Society Individuals / Organizations to broaden ownership of the measures taken by Ministry of Commerce / Government of Pakistan for implementation of human rights and other commitments.
To develop and maintain relations with key stakeholders in order to build networks through which to learn to share advocacy messages.
To assist Ministry of Commerce in preparing the responses/ making report on the questions / list of issues shared by European Union during their review / monitoring period.
Any other task assigned by Ministry of Commerce

General Instructions:

Successful candidates will be offered market competitive salaries and the appointment will be made on a contract basis, initially for a period of one (1) year further extendable based on performance.
