Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA) has been established through the enactment of the Punjab Enforcement & Regulation Act, 2024 by the Government of Punjab (GoPb) with an aim to streamline regulatory measures across the Punjab for better and more effective enforcement of special laws.
The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and motivated individuals for the position of “Enforcement Officer (BS 14)”. Join us in ensuring a transparent and compliant society through a fresh governance perspective. Details are as follows:

Prescribed Qualification and Skill as per PERA Service Regulations:

  1. Bachelor’s degree (Honors) or equivalent (at least 2nd division) from a HEC recognized university
  2. Driving Skill (Motorcycle/Car/LTV)

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • To execute orders of the SDEOs for the purpose of enforcement of the scheduled laws.
  • To devise strategies, take measure as prescribed and coordinate with other agencies for the prevention of offences under the scheduled laws.
  • To carry out Enforcement of Scheduled laws.
  • To carry out search, inspection and sealing of a Public property or a private property strictly in accordance with the Act.
  • Recording and reporting of all inspections to the SDEO on daily basis
  • Ensure regular patrolling and inspections in his area of jurisdiction.
  • To carry out inspections to:
    1. Ascertain/monitor compliance of the orders issued under the act
    2. To collect any electronic evidence for investigation
    3. On credible information by the Whistle-blower
    4. On reference from the department.
  • To exercise powers to carry out inspection, search and seizure of any item, goods, article, property and vehicle relevant to commission of an offence under the scheduled laws.
  • To exercise powers power to arrest an offender and report it to the Hearing Officer
  • Exercise the power to use reasonable force in case of retaliation or obstruction
  • Power to file complaints and get FIRs registered as prescribed.
  • Issue notices or Summons to the offenders or the relevant persons and ensure their serving as prescribed.
  • Removal of Encroachment (moveable /immoveable) using necessary means and force as prescribed.
  • Determination of cost of Enforcement and its recovery
  • To initiate and conduct inquiries as prescribed under the act.
  • Exercise powers to impose and recover fine from the offender subject to the prescribed pecuniary limitations.
  • Exercise power to issue EPO under the act.
  • All functions will be performed while wearing an audio/video camera.
  • To exercise any other power of a police officer as may be conferred by the Government.
  • Any other function and powers as may be delegated by the authority or prescribed by the rules/regulations.

How to Apply:

  1. No relaxation in age, education or physical standards shall be allowed to any person including the Government Servants. Punjab Civil Servants Recruitment (Relaxation in Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1976 are not applicable for these posts.

  4. The applicant whose documents are verified, will be issued challan and identification slips for physical test. The identification slip will only be issued after the challan is paid through PayZen against the PSID mentioned in challan and cutoff date for submission of application.

Important Information:
