What is Lead Internal Communications?
The Lead Internal Communications role is vital in driving internal engagement, amplifying our social impact initiatives, and advancing financial literacy across wider communities. This role ensures that communication efforts—both internal and external—are aligned with the company’s mission to build digital inclusion and empower people financially.
This role shapes our narrative on how we contribute to social development, financial education, and community empowerment. By collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, the Lead Internal Communications fosters a culture of transparency, trust, and shared purpose.
Reporting to the Head of Communications and Customer Experience, the Lead Internal Communications collaborates across departments to design impactful communication strategies that engage employees, stakeholders, and the communities we serve.
Requirements:
- A degree in Communications, Media, PR, Journalism, Business, or related fields.
- 8-10 years of experience in strategic communication, with a focus or strong interest in internal communications, social impact storytelling, or financial literacy advocacy.
- Expertise in digital communication tools, engaging multimedia content creation, and social media for corporate purposes.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience measuring communication effectiveness, particularly within employee and social impact programs.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, capable of simplifying complex financial and social topics for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and foster engagement among employees and external stakeholders.
- Creative, proactive, and adaptable mindset, comfortable managing multiple initiatives with a purpose-driven approach.
Job Responsibilities:
- Internal Engagement & Employee Communication: Develop and deliver compelling communication campaigns, newsletters, and updates that keep employees informed, inspired, and aligned with our social impact goals and financial literacy programmes.
- Social Impact Storytelling: Highlight and share stories around our initiatives that promote financial inclusion, digital access, and community development to build awareness and pride internally and externally.
- Financial Literacy Advocacy: Work with relevant teams to communicate financial education programs that empower customers and employees, ensuring messaging is clear, accessible, and engaging.
- Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Support partnerships and collaborations that amplify our social impact, coordinating communications that reinforce our role as a responsible and impactful corporate citizen.
- Thought Leadership in Social Impact: Position the company as a leader in digital inclusion and financial empowerment by promoting our insights and success stories through internal channels, external forums, and community events.
- Content Creation & Multimedia: Design content—including videos, graphics, presentations, and articles—that brings our social purpose and financial literacy efforts to life.
- Measurement & Analysis: Track the effectiveness of communications around social impact initiatives to continually refine strategies and maximize engagement and awareness.
