Askari Bank hiring “Branch Manager” across Pakistan.
The primary role of Branch Manager is developing, monitoring & maintaining overall administration, operations, marketing, lending, and security of the branch. The position incumbent is also responsible for developing strong business relationship with existing customers/clients, increase market share by exploring new business opportunities, maintenance of best customer services, motivating branch staff to achieve branch targets, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Policies & Process (SOPs),  AML/CDD Policy of the Bank and AML/CFT Regulations monitoring & controlling of operating expenses to minimize unnecessary expenses and maximizing branch profitability.

Job Specification/Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of Banking experience in which at least 02 years as supervisor / team manager role.
  • Preferably Masters in Economics/Commerce/ Business management / Marketing from HEC recognized institute or Foreign University.
  • Awareness of regulatory and bank policies.
  • Good understanding of Islamic financial principles and Shariah law
  • Knowledge of banking products.
  • Good analytical Skills.
  • Good decision-making power.
  • Proactive approach to handle daily issues and situations.
  • Proficiency in handling data base.
  • Proficient in MS Excel & MS Office.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Assist Area Manager to develop branch business plans, strategy and initiate action for business development. Undertake periodic reviews of approved branch objectives and targets against actual performance and formulate plans for achieving targets.  Regularly review and monitor balancing of various transaction books, accounts, reports.
  • Ensure achievement of branch financial targets with major focus on current account and total deposit.  Conduct market research for exploring and identifying new customers/clients and generate business opportunities within the designated territory.  Motivate staff for marketing and develop a dedicated marketing team to undertake the task and achieve the assigned deposit target.
  • Expand and maintain branch customer base by opening new accounts.  Develop and maintain cordial business relationships with existing customers; provide better solutions & services to keep customers loyal with the branch, while ensuring Fair treatment of Customers.  Manage and monitor administrative and functional activities of the Branch, take necessary actions for improvement of working environment and ensure that services provided to customers adhere with prescribed standards. Attend customer queries and complaints and provide prompt resolution for enhancing quality in service.
  • Ensure to conduct initial assessment / interviews only in case of accounts of entitled i.e. other than individuals or those accounts where business is solicited by BM themselves, regardless of type of accounts. Ensure to conduct review of all accounts opening forms and related documents and accord approval on all forms. Ensure to regularize exceptions (if any) highlighted by CPU in timely manner. Ensure completion of required documentary evidence justifying change / revision in KYC profile for entities i.e. other than individual.
  • Proactively identify gaps, suggest and provide necessary feedback for improving systems & procedures to enhance service quality and efficiency. Review and share HR requirement, workload assessment, staff training, staff motivation, retention and all HR Related matters with Area/Regional General Manager.
  • Target and secure profitable new business in line with regional marketing strategy by effectively targeting prospective accounts, creating in-depth prospect profiles, and building relationships, prepare and present proposals, and securing the business through cross sell. Ensure to achieve the assigned advances targets, trade / guarantees volume, consumer and Banca or any other KPI.
  • Ensure strict compliance of key governance role & responsibilities specific to TBML framework. Provide guidance to staff for implementing effective controls. Ensure that updated manuals / circulars / policies are held on record and followed in true spirits. Ensure implementation of AML / CDD policy in true spirit. Ensure that proper Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence is being performed at the time of establishment of relationship and with regular intervals.
  • Ensure that prescribed rules & regulations are properly implemented.  Review audit finding and ensure timely rectifications of non-conformities and prepare action plan for improving compliance in future.
